At You & Me Food, we believe in privacy by design. We have built our app to be as minimal and private as possible. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding your data.
1. No Personal Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or location. You do not need to create an account to use our app.
2. Local Storage
Everything you enter into the app stays on your device:
- Inventory & Preferences: The ingredients you add to your digital pantry and your dietary preferences are stored locally on your phone's internal storage. We do not have access to this data.
3. Server Usage & Synchronization
We use a minimal backend service strictly for the purpose of connecting you with your partner:
- QR Code & Links: When you generate a QR code or link to share a menu, we create a temporary session on our server to allow your partner's device to receive the menu and tasks.
- This data is transient and does not contain personal information. It serves only as a "handshake" between two devices.
4. AI and Recipe Generation
To provide you with smart recipes, the app sends the list of ingredients and selected kitchen tools to an Artificial Intelligence (AI) provider. This data is sent anonymously. The AI processes this text to generate a recipe and returns the result. Your personal identity is never shared in this process.
5. In-App Purchases and Payments
We offer digital goods and features for purchase within the app.
- Payment Processing: All financial transactions are handled directly by Apple via the App Store. We do not process, store, or have access to your credit card or bank information.
- RevenueCat: We use a third-party service called RevenueCat to manage purchase infrastructure and subscription status. We share an anonymous app user ID with RevenueCat to validate your purchase and unlock premium features.
6. Push Notifications
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send you notifications (e.g., updates, reminders, or cooking tips). To facilitate this, a unique, anonymous device token is generated and sent to Firebase servers. This token identifies your device installation, not you personally. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
7. Marketing and Advertising
We do not show third-party banner ads inside the app. However, we use services like Meta (Facebook) Ads to measure the effectiveness of our own marketing campaigns.
- App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS devices, we will ask for your permission to track your activity.
- If you allow tracking: We share identifiers (like IDFA) and usage data (like "App Install" events) with Meta to understand if our ads are working.
- If you decline: We do not share this data with Meta for tracking purposes. The app remains fully functional without tracking.
8. Children's Privacy
Since we do not collect personal data, our app is safe for users of all ages. However, we do not knowingly market to or solicit information from children under the age of 13.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Since we do not collect email addresses, we advise you to review this page periodically for any changes.
